In this three-hour workshop targeted to freelancers looking to break into the direct client market, we'll look at practical, actionable steps to finding direct clients. You'll finish the session with a list of tasks you can start on right away.

Many translators are afraid to approach direct clients, or are unsuccessful in the direct client market, because they pick a marketing method that is unappealing to their potential clients, a bad match with their personality type, or both.

We'll review at least 10 proven ways of finding direct clients, with an in-depth look at e-mail marketing, attending client-side events, and optimizing your online presence for direct clients. We'll also discuss how to determine if you're ready to enter the direct client market, and how direct clients are different from agencies. The workshop will also include a look at ProZ.com user profiles that are targeted at direct clients.
